Fun With Cinnamon Sticks

The other day I walked into Michael's craft store and got blasted with the scent of cinnamon pine cones lining every square inch of the entrance. At first it made my nose itch, and I felt like I swallowed way too much smell at once. But they got their message across; the festive aroma of cinnamon is still alive and popular.

I still have some old crafts down the basement from those years back when I went crazy with cinnamon stick center pieces. I was obsessed with cranking them out as my gifts that year. Everyone I knew got one. I bought the ones that are a foot long, stacked them pyramid style, and decorated each one relative to the person they were being given to.

Cinnamon was always the number one spice to use in potpourri warmers. Remember those? The joy of buying those huge bags has since been replaced with reed sticks, wax cubes, and oils.

Now there are numerous versions of electric plug-in warmers for just about anything that can give off a scent.
But getting back to cinnamon.... the spice can be added to any plain candle in a warmer, providing a soft hint of the smell. Cinnamon sticks can also be placed in the warmers with enough water to prevent burning.
